The Story Behind the Healing Hands

From childhood intuition to masterful practice

My relationship with healing touch began in the most natural way – as a little girl, I would untie my father's tight shoelaces after his long workdays, slip off his leather oxfords, and massage his tired feet. I watched in wonder as tension melted from his face, feeling the magic happen beneath my small hands. That seed of healing, planted so early, would eventually bloom into nearly two decades of dedicated practice. The circle came beautifully full in spring 2015, when I had the profound honor of massaging my 91-year-old father's legs and feet in his final days – the same gentle care I'd offered as a child, now informed by years of training and deep understanding of the body's wisdom.Hi, I'm Carolyn – your guide to deep relaxation and renewed vitality. Building community, one healing session at a time

After a decade of teaching yoga and practicing bodywork independently, I founded and directed Copper Crane Yoga, a vibrant community-based healing center in Vergennes, Vermont. This experience taught me that healing happens best in spaces filled with warmth, acceptance, and genuine care.

Master-level training, heart-centered approach

My credentials tell one story of dedication:

  • Advanced Certified Thai Yoga Bodywork practitioner (studying with Jonas Westring of Shantaya Yoga and Bodywork School since 2001)

  • Certified Zero Balancer (Zero Balancing Health Association, training began 2007)

  • Graduate of McKinnon Body Therapy Center's comprehensive program in Acupressure, Shiatsu, and Swedish Massage (Oakland, CA, 2012-2015)

  • Recent graduate of the intensive 500-hour Zen Shiatsu Certification Training Program at Five Lights Center of Shiatsu, New York City (December 2024)

But the deeper story lives in the thousands of sessions where I've witnessed profound transformations: clients with Parkinson's finding new ease of movement, expectant mothers discovering comfort, elderly bodies rediscovering flexibility, and stressed souls melting into deep peace.

What guides every session

Insight, intuition, and compassion are my compass. Each session is a unique conversation between your body's wisdom and my trained hands. I've learned that healing isn't something I do to you – it's something we create together, in the sacred space between practitioner and client.Just as I once watched my father's face soften under my child's touch, I continue to witness the beautiful unfolding that happens when we allow ourselves to receive healing care: deep relaxation, symptom relief, postural improvements, pain reduction, increased mobility, and that wonderful sense of coming home to yourself.Your body knows how to heal. Sometimes it just needs the right invitation.
